JAMES 2:12

So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
1. Speak
A. Strong (2980): to talk, that is, to utter words
B. Thayer: to utter a voice, to speak…to use words in order to declare one’s mind and disclose one’s thoughts
C. Vine: to say, to speak
2. Do
A. Strong (4160): to do
B. Thayer: to do…to carry out, execute
C. Vine: to do
3. Judged
A. Strong (2919): to distinguish between, that is, decide (mentally or judicially); by implication to try, condemn, punish
B. Thayer: to judge, to pronounce an opinion concerning right or wrong, to be judged
C. Vine: primarily denotes to separate, select, choose; hence, to determine, and so to judge, pronounce judgment…to undergo process of trial
4. Law
A. Strong (3551): law…regulation…principle
B. Thayer: anything established…a law, command…a law producing a state approved of God…the Christian religion: the law demanding faith, the moral instruction given by Christ
C. Vine: law…law as decreed by a state and set up as the standard of administrative justice
5. Liberty
A. Strong (1657): freedom
B. Thayer: true liberty is living as we should not as we please
C. Vine: liberty, freedom…a manumission from slavery
