James 1:24

For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

 

1.   Beholdeth

A.    Strong (2757):  to observe fully

B.    Thayer:  to perceive…observe, understand, to consider attentively, fix one’s eyes or

mind upon

C.    Vine:  a strengthened form of “noeo,” to perceive…denotes the action of the mind in

apprehending certain facts about a thing; hence, to consider

 

2.   Goeth his way

A.    Strong (565):  to go off, depart

B.    Thayer:  to go away, depart

C.    Vine:  to go away

 

3.   Straightway

A.    Strong (2112):  directly, that is, at once or soon

B.    Thayer:  straightway, immediately

C.    Vine:  at once, straightway, immediately, shortly

 

4.   Forgetteth

A.    Strong (1950):  to lose out of mind; by implication to neglect

B.    Thayer:  to forget, neglecting, no longer caring for

C.    Vine:  to forget or neglect

 

5.   What manner of man
